Morphe & Jaclyn Hill eyeshadow palette review!

For years I have been following Jaclyn Hill on YouTube. I remember I was watching a different video and I saw a smokey eye tutorial so I just clicked on it. That's when I first saw Jaclyn Hill's channel. Ever since then, I've been following and supporting her.
As you can imagine, I was pretty excited (and a bit jealous to be honest) when I heard she'd drop her own palette with Morphe.

It's been quite a while since she's dropped the palette and at first it was so hard for me to get my hands on it. They always sold out so quickly or the companies that had them in stock don't deliver to Belgium.
The biggest surprise on Christmas was that my boyfriend actually managed to get his hands on it. I had gotten all these beautiful gifts from amazing brands and really didn't think it could get any better and then I opened the last package. The package with the Jaclyn Hill palette in it. I swear to God, I nearly jumped through the roof!

This palette holds a wide range of colours. 35 eyeshadows to be exact. They vary from skintone colours to blending colours, colours that pop and dark colours.
I was so excited but at thesame time I didn't want to use the palette. It was just so beautiful. A month and a half later I finally decided it was time and started experimenting with it.

The thing with Youtubers who get their own make-up line is that they will be criticized more. You expect a very good product from somebody who makes a living reviewing different brands. You expect the eyeshadows to have to best colour pay off and to blend like butter.
I too, expected a lot from this palette. Luckily, if you didn't already know, I can tell you that this is the kind of stuff that dreams are made of.

These eyeshadows are so gorgeous and there are so many shades. They are so many options. Not all the eyeshadows are equally pigmented, but most of them blew my mind.

Here are a couple of looks that I have done using this palette. As you can see the colours are absolutely gorgeous.

I'm very satisfied and think Morphe and Jaclyn Hill did a great job!

I hope you enjoyed this post! See you soon!

Manicure Monday: My love diary

Happy Monday everyone!
Hope the Monday Blues aren't too bad today! I just got back from a holiday in Malaga and I'm so happy to be able to spend some time by myself and with my family.
I love the job I do but the truth is it can get a little overwhelming sometimes- so spending some time at home is never a bad thing.

For the first time in quite a while I have had the time to go explore and discover new make-up items, watch new tutorials and get creative myself.
Today I didn't paint my face, I decided to paint my nails. It's been a while since I've done this because my nails have been very weak since I was a kid (I used to bite them like crazy) but I've overcome that nasty habit and they are longer and stronger than I could ever hope for.
I don't mind nailpolish drawing attention to my hands now.

The nailpolish that I used today is by Essence. If you've kept up with my blog (or my Instagram) in the past, you'll know that I'm absolutely crazy about Essence nailpolishes.
They have all kinds of cute colours, they're very affordable and they are gorgeous. Today's colour is called "My Love Diary". It's pink, but not too bright or childish looking.
Appropriate for work and playful at thesame time. I love it!

I decided to apply some glitter nailpolish from NYX on my ringfinger - it's a cute little detail. Which colours have you been loving? What's your favourite brand for nailpolishes?

Have a good day!

Hudabeauty textured, rose gold eyeshadows palette

For a couple of weeks now, I've been teasing my Hudabeauty Rosé palette review. I have completely fallen in love with it and I don't think I'm the only one.
The top row of this palette (and one eyeshadow on the second row) is glitter only. There are five colours in total that are shimmery and two textured eyeshadows. Very cute!
The palette also has great highlighting colours, blending colours, a few bright colours and a few dark ones.

I love a palette with some variety - I can think of a hundered looks to do with this palette. Here are the swatches. As you can see the pigmentation of the eyeshadows are pretty damn great. The colours show up really well. The lightest and darkest colour seem less pigmented. They show up very good and blend flawlessly on the eyes though. Soft as butter these ones!

Here are a couple of the looks that I've made using this palette. I tried to do as many different looks as I could, showing all of the colours and all of the textures. You can see more looks on my Instagram!

EOTD: Mermaid

My beauty obsession started when I was still very young. I think I must have been fourteen or fifteen when I discovered beauty channels on YouTube for the first time. I have seen a lot of videos in the meantime and supported a lot of YouTubers.

The Jaclyn Hill x Morphe palette is a palette that I have wanted for a long time. I couldn't get my hands on it. Either the company didn't sell to the country I lived in, or they were out of stock.
Luckily, my boyfriend got his hands on it and it was one of my Christmas presents. "Christmas present? It's March and this is the first time you're hearing about this." - I know, I didn't want to touch it for a while because I just thought it was so beautiful (and of course then you want to keep it intact as long as possible).
The day has come though, and naturally I went for the brightest colours in the palette: teal and turquoise!

The look that I came up with incorporates the "halo" technique that has been quite popular lately. This means that the inside and outside of your eyes are a bit darker, whereas you brighten up the middle portion of your eyelid for that extra "pop".

I skipped eyeliner and decided to just put on a ton of mascara.

That's the finished look!

I'm very satisfied with the palette. The colours that I have used have left a very good impression - but I didn't expect anything less from Jaclyn Hill and Morphe.
I'll be back with more looks! I hope you enjoyed this one!

EOTD: Soft Smokes

Goodmorning everyone!
Today's look is the most fun  look I have done in a while. Even though it's not super colourful, the technique is different to what I'm used to and that's quite fun.

I used my Hudabeauty Rosé palette for this look.

You don't need a lot for a look like this. Three colours is enough. I used a light, yellow colour, a taupe eyeshadow for my crease and a chocolate brown in my outer corner. Instead of using eyeliner, I smudged out the darkest eyeshadow on my upper lashline and lower lashline - and added some black eyeshadow.

Would you like to see a tutorial on this look?

Thanks for visiting again today, see you soon!

OOTD: Be your own sunshine

Hey guys! How have you been doing?
Even though spring is not happening for another (few) month(s), the sun has been shining and it has been very uplifting for everybody's mood!

There's nothing like having lunch or a drink with people you cherish and feeling the sun beams on your skin. Through the window that is, because outside it's still too cold, but I guess beggers can't be choosers.

This coat is one of the newest items in my closet. I have quite a few coats, but I don't have bright ones like this one. I really loved to colour and have been looking for a similar coat for a while now, so I took my change and brought it home.

Because this coat is so bright, I kept the rest of my outfit basic. Black boots, black jeans and a black sweater.
I ended up going for my Kenzo sweater, which is black, but the brand logo is stitched on in thesame shade of yellow as the coat.

- Jeans: Pieces

Fenty Beauty Galaxy eyeshadow palette review

It's been a couple of months since Christmas. Almost all of my Christmas presents were make-up and blog related and after two months of testing and trying, I have a pretty good idea of which items I like and which items I don't.

The first review I'm going to be writing is my Fenty Beauty Galaxy palette. I've done quite a few looks on this palette and I've been hinting on my Instagram page, so this might look familiar to you.

The packaging is so gorgeous. Out of all the palettes I own, I think this one is one of my favourites - if not, my biggest favourite.

All of the eyeshadows in the palette are shimmery. They are all quite light in colour and there are a lot of different shades: from pink to gold, to purple, to copper, green and taupe.

Here are some colours that I have swatched. I was very surprised by how good the quality was. I'm always a little bit sceptical of celebrity make-up brands, but this is one that I don't regret.

Here are some eye looks that I've done with this palette. I'm very satisfied with how these shadows apply on the eyes. Very cute!

Have you tried out any Fenty Beauty products?

Have a good day!

EOTD: Frost

Every once in a while I get really inspired. It can be by nature, like when I see a sunset I like to create a similar look using yellow and orange eyeshadows.
I can get inspired by buildings, or by things I see on instagram.
I've been wanting to do a very bright, colourful look for a long time now. I have a gorgeous blue liquid eyeliner in my drawer that I can't use on a daily basis so I decided to do a look with this one. I used to be scared of pink and then I started doing a lot of pink looks. It's been ages since I've done anything with any blue eyeshadow, so I thought this would be a nice change for once.

The blue eyeshadow that I used is from a new Zoeva palette that I'm testing. I'm also using the blue eyeshadow from my Fenty Beauty Galaxy palette.
Probably my favourite product in this whole look is the MAC pigment that I used on my eyelid. It's called "Blue Brown" and it's a taupe with some blue sparkles in it.
So pretty - and you can make it wearable!

OOTD: Burgundy faux fur

One of the best memories of last year was my solo trip in November. I went to Lisbon on my own, which was so scary for me because I have anxiety and also, I'm very bad at orientation so I was frightened, because there would be nobody to help me. I did - against all odds, haha - return safely to Belgium with so many good memories and great experiences in my proverbial backpack.

I met so many people and saw so many things that I could never even have dreamed of! Although I bought a lot of souvenirs for my family and friends back home, I only brought back one thing for myself: this Hard Rock Café shirt. We have a Hard Rock Café here, but I've never been there. Visiting the one in Lisbon was a good idea though and whenever I see this shirt I always have to think of the adventures.

Today I paired it with my new faux fur jacket and some ripped jeans and booties for a "tougher" look. I put my hair up in a high bun, which I really like. I'm not used to putting it this high, but I think it's quite cute.

To match my outfit, I'm wearing my "Diva" lipstick by MAC and a sultry smokey eye.
Which countries have you been inspired by? Do you ever solo travel?

Have a good one!

EOTD: Lovey Dovey

Goodmorning! How have you been? Last week I didn't feel like doing a special look for Valentine's Day. I like the fact that we celebrate love on Valentine's Day, but I won't necessarily wear pink or purple on my eyes that day.

This weekend however, I did decide to go for pink. This pink shade is my favourite shade from the Hudabeauty Rosé palette - which I have been testing this last week and which I will be reviewing in one of my next posts.

As you can see this palette holds such pretty colours! I used "Shy" in my crease and worked the brightest pink, called "Flamingo" in my crease as well. I used the hot pink "Maneater" and "Bossy" in my outer crease corner and finished the whole look with "Fling" - a hot pink shimmery eyeshadow. Later on, I put some of the "Rose" gold in the middle of my eyelid for a halo effect. You can see the chunks. I like it!

I used gel eyeliner on my lower waterline and some mascara to complete this look!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know what you think!
Have a good day!

OOTD: Belfort

Goodmorning! How have you been? How did you spend your Valentine's Day?
I hope you had a really good one!
We don't really make a big holiday of it, we try to spend time and effort on each other every week when we have the day off.

Days off are also my favourite days for outfit pictures! This one is from a little while back. I got this dress online.
I got this because the promo picture was a lady with this dress and a red handbag. The details of the flowers in this dress and the handbag matched so beautifully, I had to have it! Women's logic, right?

We went to the belfree in the centre of Bruges to take this picture. I live very close to the belfree, which is so efficient for everyday life, but the belfree never loses it's beauty to me. I often find myself looking at it. Some people say that if you live in a historic city with many tourists, you don't think it's special anymore because you've gotten so used to it. I haven't, just yet!
I can't wait to explore more parts of the city for outfit pictures!

My handbag and boots are by H&M. My tights are from Calzedonia and my coat is by New Look!

Have a good one.

Kat Von D Saint & Sinner eyeshadow palette!

Goodmorning everyone! How have you been?
I've been teasing the review of this palette for a little while on Instagram now. I have finally had enough time to experiment with different looks and colours. I still haven't tested all of them, but most of them have been used - and approved.

This is what the packaging looks like. I'm very impressed by the packaging of the palette. It's something different.

The swatches didn't disppoint for sure! There's such a variety!
Dark, light, bright,... I have to say that all of the swatches look very good. The dark ones show up without too much fall out and the light colours are visible, which isn't always the case on my light skin.

Here's a look that I did using the "Saint" side of the palette on my left eye and the "Sinner" side on my right eye. As you can see the left side is a quite wearable look with a halo effect in the middle of the eye.
The right side is a purple smokey eye with pink and red details in the crease.

Here are some other looks that I have done with the palette. I'm very happy with the results this palette gives me, this is one that I would recommend for sure. Beautiful colour range and great pigment!
