Catrice eyeshadow duo in "Bloomynous"

I am addicted to limited editions, I love it when I have something of which I know only a few people have. These last few weeks I have gotten quite a bit of new stuff and one of the new things that I got is from Catrice's limited edition called "Eve in bloom". It's just this really simple eyeshadow duo that has the name "Bloomynous".

I like eyeshadow duo's a lot because it's easy for everyday.

The packaging of this eyeshadow duo is quite simple. The only thing that shows it's from a limited edition is the flowers on the plastic. I don't think it looks that special to be honest.

Swatches! I think the two colours look absolutely amazing together. The pigmentation is always either very good or very bad. I would say it could have been a lot better, I especially expect it to be when it's a limited edition. However, the colours are buildable and they don't crumble so there is (nearly) no fall out.

I do like the colours, I do like the idea but the pigmentation could have been better. Would I recommend it? Errrm well probably not, since there are so many other great Catrice eyeshadows to find!

Thanks for reading! Have a lovely day!

Catrice shine control powder

A few months ago I discovered a very nice mattifying powder. I used it and used it and used it, until there wasn't anything left.
I descided I wanted to get a new one, but I couldn't find it at the Essence counter. Quite disappointed, I started looking for another powder by another brand.

I found the mattifying powder by Catrice and decided to give it a shot. The difference between this one and the Essence one that I used before, is that this one is a light skintone colour, while the powder from Essence is white.

So... What do I think of it? Let's start with packaging. The packaging of this product is quite simple but I have said it before and I will continue to say it: a powder doesn't need too much detailing on the packaging in my opinion.

The fact that the powder is coloured doesn't really matter. It still doesn't show up on your skin (at least it doesn't on mine because it's lighter than my skintone) and it removes the oil perfectly. There's nothing more to say about it, I'm happy with the results and I will repurchase for sure!

OOTD: Everyday outerwear!

Hello everyone! Whoo, it's been a while since I've done some kind of outfit of the day!
Today, I'm not going to really do an outfit of the day, but I thought it would be fun to show you my "outerwear" on a typical day. I had a friend of mine take a picture of what I look like with my fall clothes on so I thought it would be fun to show you!

It's quite a simple 'outerwear' outfit. I just got this jacket one night when it was very rainy, I didn't even really think about it, I thought it was cute so I got it. And it protected me from the rain. I still wear it everyday. I also like to wear scarfs. In this picture I'm wearing my "ombre scarf" by H&M, you can't see it though, I like to keep it tucked.

The boots that I'm wearing are the boots that I like to wear when it's very rainy or when it's cold. It was quite cold that day. Unfortunately, I was helping one of my friend out because with her wheelchair and without me noticing, the buckle of my boot got stuck into her weelchair. I wanted to take a step and the buckle came off. So now my beautiful pair of boots is not intact anymore. I'm quite sad about it, but I guess it just happens.

Because I have only one picture of my outfit, I wanted to include some pictures of beautiful architecture in Brussels!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Thanks for reading!

Sugar Skull Makeup

Have you decided what you want to be yet for Halloween? I'm still doubting a little bit, but I already tried a couple of things as well!
Today I want to show you my first attempt at a Sugar Skull (I do need to practice). The Sugar Skull is quite popular these days and there are hundered of youtube videos on it. Yet, I tried to create something unique myself. Normally you would start off with a white painted face but I don't have enough face paint so I decided to just put it over my foundation instead. Enjoy the pictures!

What do you think? Thanks for reading!

Weekly Diary

Hi everyone! How have you been doing? It's Sunday again so this post is my weekly diary post, as usual. I had such a busy, but very fun week! Let's start with a picture of the sky, just because I think the sky has been looking beautiful lately!

I tried some masks last week! Review will be up soon! This one is one that dries up like a second skin. So creepy when you have to pull it off, it's like you're taking the flesh off of your skull. Brr!

Speaking of skulls... Check the Sugar Skull I tried to make! I do need to practice a little more! A post about this will be up soon! Oh, and uh, do you know what you're going to be for Halloween yet?

Lunch and grocery shopping! I had some meat balls with fries and carrots. Oh, and a coke of course!

Don't you just love it when they do this at the grocery store?! Made my day! I absolutely loved it!

Got myself a new book! I had been wanting this one for a long time and since it was only €4.99.....

On Friday I went to Brussels, the capitol of my city, which is quite far away from the place I live and I don't remember ever going there. Look what I found:

...And this!

Yummy! Ice coffee at McDonald's! The people there were super friendly!

Going back home after a long day, 7 pm.

Look what I got! This isn't the only thing I got, but it was for sure the most expensive thing! Don't you think it looks so pretty? I have been wanting this for such a long time but I could never find it! Can't wait to review this and make tutorials with it!

On Saturday we had a huge party. This is a party that is organised every year by the seniors of our school to help pay for a three day (expensive) trip to Prague. This year was the first year the venue changed, the first year we had a mystery act ànd the first year that all the tickets were sold out! Quite proud of myself! We put a lot of work and effort in to it, and it showed. We also had T-shirts and little "crew cards" that had the "advertisement" of this year on it! Can you find my (full) name? It's Eva-Lynn!

By the time you read this, it will be Sunday and I'll be super tired, maybe I'll still be in bed! I will try to have photo's of the party next week - I hope I get a few good ones!
Thanks for reading! Have a lovely week!

OCTOBER FAVIES

October is almost over so it's time for my favourites of this month! Most of my favourites are new items, such as my newest, green eyeshadow duo by Essence. It's called "Like a stone in the wall" and it's from the "Be Loud" collection. I think the colours look amazing, I've been looking for great green colours lately!

Next, I have a new favourite berry lipstick! This is by Essence as well, it's called "On the catwalk".

And next, I have my new shine control matt powder by Catrice. I used to have one by Essence but I couldn't find it anymore so I got this one, which is at least as good. I love anti shine powders, I'm glad I got this one. There will be a review on this very soon!

What are your favourite products of this month?

Essence lipstick in "On the catwalk"

My obsession with lipsticks: I don't think it will ever get better!
I keep on buying and buying and buying, they are too pretty to leave behind! You want to see my latest catch?

Berry coloured lipsticks have been the ones that I've bought most of the time - while looking forward to fall. I used to be scared to wear very dark colours, but it's just a state of mind, once you get used to it...
Also, the berry colours are still quite wearabe, I think. It's not over the top. Personally I think it looks sophisticated and elegant.

My newest berry coloured lipstick is by Essence and it's called "On the catwalk". The packaging is their newest packaging and I think it looks lovely!
The tube is made out of a matt black material and in the middle, there's berry red detailing. The brand logo can also be found on the lipstick itself. Cute!

I'm rather happy with the quality of this lipstick. The pigmentation is very good. At thesame time this lipstick is also very smooth and it doesn't dry out your lips.

Quite amazing, isn't it? I'm loving these new Essence lipstick, I would for sure recommend them (to makeup beginners but also to experienced makeup lovers will like this product I believe). Good quality, very affordable. What more could you want?

Essence eyshadow duo in "Like a stone in the wall"

Hi guys, how have you been doing?
I've been quite busy lately! Not only with school and in my personal life, but also with testing makeup! I recently got a few new items and I was so excited about them that I spent half a day trying, photographing and editing everything!

Today I will be showing you my newest eyeshadow duo by Essence. This one is from their limited edition called "Be Loud", which seems to revolve around army prints/trends.
The colours of this eyeshadow is what makes me think of army a lot: a taupe/grey colour with a hint of green on the left and then a very nice olive green on the right. The last colour even reminds me of "Woodwinked" by MAC a little bit.

Believe it or not, I've been looking for great green eyeshadows for this fall, I think it's going to be my favourite colour. I don't know, I just got into this really green loving fase! (I already have a dark green look on the blog! Check it out here!)

The duo that I got is called "Like a stone in the wall".

Swatches! I do think the pigmentation could have been a little bit better. Not that I'm disappointed though, you can always build it up! I do think the lightest colour might be a little bit too light for my skin, I noticed it barely showed up, I had to try quite a few times!

Are you ready to see the eye look?

The eyelook that I made with this is quite simple: light colour on the lid, dark colour in the crease, a little bit of highlighter, brown pencil liner on my upper lashline (I was testing that eyeliner for the blog as well but the quality is just so bad that I decided it's not worth the effort. A shame really, I've been craving for a nice brown eyeliner)!
After that, I applied one coat of mascara. Nice, neutral and wearable!

I do think this is exactly the duo that I needed to create an amazing olive green look with. I love it! I paid €2.39 for this duo, that's $3.29 and £2.04, which is actually really cheap!

I hope you enjoyed this review! Thanks for reading again today!
Have a lovely day!

HALLOWEEN MAKEUP: Some ideas...

Hi everybody!
Halloween is almost here and even though here in Belgium it's not celebrated as much as in (for example) the United States, I still like to play around with makeup every once in a while!
Today I wanted to give you some "ideas", in case you're celebrating Halloween but you don't know what you're going to be yet!

Oh, one quick thing: all the videos below are by Goldiestarling - I think she's a true genious when it comes to (Halloween) makeup!
I especially like the last one, which is a half pin-up/half muscle face look!

A sneak peek inside my beauty closet: blushes

Hello everyone! I'm back with another sneak peek inside my beauty closet! Today I'm writing about one of my favourite parts of my makeup collection, which is my blush section. No matter how much make I do or don't put on, blush is something that I always wear! Because I'm quite pale, but also because I just love the look of it.

I do have some no-brand blushes but I also have a few blushes from well known brands. These are my very favourite blushes, they're all coral or orange toned.

The blushes on the left are by Essence and Catrice. The one with the pretty pattern is from a limited edition called "Vintage District" by Essence, the name of the blush is "It's popul-ART". This had such a pretty gold shimmer over it but it was only an overspray - unfortunately. I still like it a lot though.
You can see how pretty it was here!

The blush below that has similar colours, this blush is by Catrice and is called "Apricot Smoothie". You can read a review on it here!

Another coral beauty that I have (and love!) is "Candid Coral" by ELF. This has been one of my go to blushes lately! It's more neutral than the other two but it's still beautiful! See more? Click here!

The other three blushes - two hot pinks and one peach, coral - don't have any brand. I got one from my mom and two in a no-brand makeup kit! I don't have any reviews on them!

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed!

Weekly Diary

Hi sweeties! How have you been holding up? You alright?
It has been extremely rainy these weeks and I'm getting quite sad. I always seem to be happier when the sun shines and when it's warmer outside! Am I the only one? Raindrops are beautiful in pictures though!

Experimenting with makeup! I enjoy playing with makeup and finding new things. If it works out, I can do makeup tutorials! Yay!

I'm loving the half moon manicure! Really want to get my nails done like this!

I've been watching a lot of movies lately! Fall is really the time for me to get comfy and watch movies! This is a part (explosion) of "Recall", an amazing movie. I enjoyed it so much! I also watched "Fun Size", "Fracture" and so on! Maybe I should start doing movie reviews as well! ;) Don't know.

Got this Christmas suit for my cat....

And shopped a little bit for myself as well! I got some face masks and some makeup items I needed. Of course, I couldn't just get what I needed, I looked around a bit and bought some other things as well. I don't think I'll ever learn!

Here he is! My cat with his Christmas suit on! I'm pretty sure he hates me now! Or maybe he enjoyed it... (he for sure didn't behave nasty. Good kitty!) Love him!

And then yesterday I celebrated 1 year Fashionista In The Dark! I'm so happy!
I hope you all had a great week, did you?
